Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell is a Washington D.C.-based American TV journalist, anchor and anchor and. Mitchell graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a master's degree from the department of English literature. Mitchell began as a radio and TV reporter for Philadelphia, KYW Radio and TV. In 1976 she was a part of the CBS-affiliated WDVM-TV located in Washington DC (then WTOP). Then, she became a Washington general reporter for NBC News two years later. She started covering the White House in 1981 and was named chief correspondent for the congressional office in 1988. Mitchell became the the chief White House reporter in 1992 as well as the chief Foreign Affairs reporter for NBC News. Mitchell has appeared as the host and panelist for the TV news program Meet the Press. Mitchell participated on a panel during the 1988 debates with George Bush & Michael Dukakis. Mitchell married Alan Greenspan the former chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. In 2005 Mitchell received the highly coveted Goldsmith Career Award for Excellence in Journalism from the John F. Kennedy School of Government as well as in 2004 the Radio-Television News Directors Association (RTNDA) presented Mitchell with the Leonard Zeidenberg Award for her work in the defense and protection of First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell started covering in the White House in 1981-1988, in both the Reagan presidency. She covered a wide range of notable stories, including arms control the budget tax reform as well as the Iran-contra scandal. Mitchell went on numerous trips together with President Reagan to meetings together with Mikhail Gorbachev and other world top leaders.
